Cash Lagoon

Will one blow the other out of the water?

CashCrate and CashLagoon, two sites that are probably quite well known in the GPT industry.  But when it comes down to it, which is better?

I’ve used both CashCrate and CashLagoon in the past few weeks and well, I’d have to say I’ve found a winner.

Download GOOGLE CHROME Now!

Google Chrome! What’s this? Google has taken a new leap into development, with the creation and soon release of its web browser “Google Chrome”. So many opinions already circulate the web with discussion of such, and the browser is not even available yet. The release of Google Chrome is scheduled for September 2nd of this year (Tomorrow). Perhaps the most anxious creation of Google since its search engine, Google Chrome is said to be equipped with so many new features to the web, it is a new start for browsers world wide.

Google released several aspects of the beta browser in a comic, found here. They also posted details in their blog, found here. In which they unveiled what could be the most needed change in browsers today, different processes for different tabs. Just hearing that is enough to make any internet user jump in excitement. We all hate cluttering up our start menu bar with several applications, which is why the tab was invented in the first place. However, tabs meant that if one page froze up, all of your pages froze up. With Google Chrome the frozen tabs are isolated into their own process, which means that you don’t have to lose space on your start menu bar, and you don’t have to lose your information on several tabs!

Newegg’s Post Price-Match Guarantee! Free $10 and gift!

Well here is the story of how I retrieved $10 back from one my purchases, as well as a free gift from Newegg! The free gift was simple, I was on live chat support and asked them to send me an email transcript of the chat. I was sent a personal email of what I requested, as well as an optional link to provide them feedback. The link also stated ‘Please reply if you’ve left feedback so we can thank you appropriately‘. I also received the $10 back, because I ordered an item, which was later featured in a daily promotion a few days later. I actually contacted them to request credit, or have my product returned, so I can purchase the new item with the discounted price. Newegg, unlike Circuit City, does not offer a price guarantee. Circuit city offers a 30day price lock guarantee. This is a quote from NewEgg’s website FAQ:

The price of an item I purchased has dropped prior to shipment. Is it possible to get a refund of the difference?

NewEgg.com does not offer any price guarantee, because industry prices change too often and too fast. If your order has not shipped, you can cancel the order online and re-order to take advantage of the new prices. All prices are as posted at the time of purchase.

That’s too bad. But if you contact them about it; they may honor the price guarantee! That’s what they did to me, they also gave me a free gift! Read on for my experience and pictures of the free gift!

Received a free shirt from FatWallet!

As I have mentioned in my previous post, I was to receive a free t-shirt from FatWallet. After only a week of anticipation, I received my shirt! Thank you FatWallet! Originally, a thread at FatWallet offers one free t-shirt to the first 1000 deals that are posted with at least a positive average rating. They may not have even gone through 1000 yet! The one day I was at FatWallet was the day the offer came up. As I really didn’t mind a free t-shirt, I went through bargain sites such as SlickDeals.net and xpBargains.com, to find that deal that hasn’t yet been found on FatWallet search. After I posted around 4-5 deals, I had about 3 with positive rating of at least 5. I got sent an email as well as 4 FatWallet private messages, congratulating me that I am selected to receive a free t-shirt. ;) There were actually two shirts that people could have got, one was if they posted a positive deal which didn’t have cash back, and a better one, the ‘revolution’ shirt for deals that’s been posted with a cash back. I think most of my eligible posts had FatCash, but I wouldn’t mind neither shirt. I just wish I had seen the other shirt in person.

Update 08.01.08: Around 300 more shirts available until promotion ends.
Read on for the pictures!

Having seen many deal sites, there are many debates and competition between these two major deal communities. I will share the experiences and opinions on both sites. The post will not be too thorough, as I am just pasting the post from my post at Woot. Feel free to leave a comment on your own opinions and/or feedback to this post.
