SEO Optimization - Comments are now DOFOLLOW!

For those that don’t yet know what DoFollow is, I will make it as simple for you as possible. DoFollow is the opposite of NoFollow! Get it? Maybe not. NoFollow is basically an attribute added to the anchor links of comments, default from most blogging systems, to prevent the links from being indexed from google. Basically, before, if a user left comments with a link back to their websites / blogs, Google and other search engines would not record that link, thus, would not have an increase in pagerank. Now your links are no longer NoFollow, but DoFollow! Commenting on this blog would now benefit your website even further, for search engine ranking and page rank improvements!

DoFollow is not actually a term for the spiders, but is a term SEO experts use, as an opposite of NoFollow. NoFollow is what actually tells the search engine spiders to not follow the link. NoFollow is a standard with wordpress blogs, probably to prevent wordpress type blogs and external links to be all over search engines. There are no more NoFollow type links on this blog, so you would see your backlinks all over google.

This plugin was installed as of 14:00 PST on 08/26/2008. Feel free to leave comments whenever, or subscribe to our blog for more opportunities to comment! If you are wondering which plugin is added, I found it from the first result of the google search term: “DoFollow”: LINK

This is a cool move. I work in SEO and can certainly appreciate this. I don’t do comment spamming, but i think links in comments should still carry some link-juice :)

This is pretty cool if I am understanding it right…check out my store at http://www.shopaggro.com - we have great deals on apparel, jewelry, and are now beginning to expand a little into electronics.
